ABQ Children’s Academy packs every day full of exciting activities to help your child prepare for kindergarten.
As a Mighty Lion in the Pre-K room, your child follows a day schedule that prepares them for kindergarten and elementary school. Clean-up routines and transitions are minimized, reflecting your child’s growing independence and self-efficacy. But not every minute is structured. Pre-K students still enjoy many opportunities for outside play, guided play and free exploration.
Pre-K Instruction and Activities
Pre-K students benefit from a variety of instructional methods and activities tailored to different learning styles. However, many more lessons and activities incorporate student writing, encouraging the development of literacy skills and fine motor skills. So, your child has new encounters and experiences with concepts and skills they have already been introduced to through our school-wide, theme-based curriculum.
What Your Pre-Kindergartner Needs
With the exception of a nap mat, back pack and lunch box, all school supplies for Pre-K students are arts, crafts and classroom comfort items. Supplies are combined to create one classroom collection.
